Dig, Bump, Pass, Set, Spike, and Block! You don’t have to be 6’ tall to play sand volleyball; you just need a net, a ball, a lot of sand and an “I won’t be lazy” attitude. There’s nothing better than hanging out with friends while getting your body in shape!
What is Sand Volleyball?
Two (2) teams of 6 active volleyball players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by causing the volleyball to hit the ground on the other team's court. The opposing team must use a combination of no more than 3 contacts with the volleyball to return the ball to the opponent's side of the net (note: a player cannot double hit the ball). The object of the game is to rally score 25 points first with at least 2 points ahead of the opposing team.

Fun League! (Co-ed)
Our “Fun Leagues” are non-competitive and designed for players who desire to be active, social, and most importantly to have Fun!! You’ll experience light hearted, easy going, and stress free playing environment. If you consider yourself inexperienced or athletically limited, this league is a great way to learn this sport without pressure and have all the laughs! This league is a great way to team build or bond with friends and family. Have a more competitive spirit? Try our Jock Leagues!
- Fun League! Anyone can play
- 6 v 6 teams, max 9 players on roster, at least 2 females
- Max out roster to prevent forfeits & have more fun
- Each rally scored match consists of 3 games to 25 (Cap 27 pts) or 60 minutes
- Each match consists of 3 games or 60 minutes
- Eight (8) regular season games played once per week
- Top 4 teams advance to a heart wrenching single elimination playoff tournament
Jock League! (Co-ed)
Our “Jock Leagues” are designed for players that desire the ultimate competitive playing experience. This league is for players who feel confident in their experience and ability and the desire to be challenged. You will walk away fully satisfied after getting your adrenaline pumping and battling it out with your opponents. You will feel alive, free, and create new memories. This league is a great way to play hard, compete, bond with your buddies, and win a great prize package.

- 4 v 4 teams with a maximum 7 players on roster, at least 1 female
- Max out roster to prevent forfeits & have more fun
- Each rally scored match consists of 3 games to 25 (Cap 27 pts) or 60 minutes
- Seven (7) or Eight (8) regular season games played once per week
- Top 4 teams advance to a heart wrenching single elimination playoff tournament
Volleyball Facilities
We play in public and private facilities throughout Albuquerque. By renting these facilities, we pass the savings on to you and as we grow, we will bring your favorite sport to a neighborhood near you. No Team or Small Team? Flaky Friends?
No worries! Sign up as a Free Agent to play sand volleyball. A Free Agent is an individual or small group who needs a team. Believe us there are others who are also looking for a team just like you. We will work our magic to place you on a team or complete your team.
Prizes - Charity

Albuquerque is different. We take care of our own and very community oriented; therefore, each team plays for a charity. Winning teams will receive prize money to donate to their choice of charity. SportsMix provides you a list of charities to choose from with the main criteria: To benefit our local community. Although you may find that your charity is not on our list, you can still play for your favorite by selecting the “other” category. Your favorite charity must meet the non-profit status.
Mixer (aka Happy Hour) After Each Volleyball Game
Make nice with your opponents after spiking the ball at them at our organized post game Mixers! We partner up with restaurants, cantinas, pubs, and bars to bring our members drink and food specials.
Sportsmanship
Our goal is for you to have fun. We hope that you keep this in mind when participating. We recognized the games may become intense; however, you still can be competitive while maintaining good sportsmanship.
With this said, any behavior deemed unacceptable by the SportsMix sports official and/or Sportsmix staff may result in suspension and/or ejection from a game or the league. While we appreciate the level of competitiveness in our league we do not tolerate any unsportsmanlike behavior. Alcohol is prohibited at all SportsMix Sporting Events.
Weather Alerts & Game Cancelations
SportsMix does not cancel games unless there is extreme lightning or crazy acts of Mother Nature. If a cancelation does occur, SportsMix will alert you via email and on our website. Text alerts will also be an option in the near future.
